Friday Christian Veterinary Mission Prayer Breakfast
February 7th, 2014 7:00 - 8:45 am
We welcome veterinarians, spouses, students, technicians, and exhibitors to join us at our 22nd annual CVMP Breakfast. CVM is an organization within our profession dedicated to serving the poorest worldwide utilizing our veterinary skills. A second goal is to encourage the local church in various ways. Currently over 40 vets are serving long term (2 years or more) and a pool of about 700 are praying about serving short or long term as opportunities arise.
RETURNING THIS YEAR Look for our booth in exhibitors hall. Stop and learn more about CVM.

Council of Senior Veterinarians -Dr. Tom Jeurgens speaking on service in Mongolia
Friday - 9:30 - 11:45 am
DR TOM JUERGENS, Iowa State, 1975
Tom was our speaker in 2001 sharing his experiences on a short term visit in Mongolia. Since that time, he has retired from his busy equine practice in the Anoka area. He has spent every summer for 14 years providing veterinary services for the herders and local vets in their "fast horse races". Even more important to the lives of the people are the workshops on basic livestock management and other educational teaching that improves the quality of life in this very poor country. This ministry started by Tom and Dr. Gerald Mitchim, and has now grown to about a dozen veterinarians from USA and are there long term and there are dozens who come to help short term each year. A much more comprehensive understanding of the ministry is their Web site mongoliafasthorseministry.org.
