Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association

Active Member - Any graduate of a recognized veterinary college who is of good moral character and of reputable professional methods, shall be eligible to active membership in this Association. Practitioners shall be licensed in the area in which they practice. Each candidate for membership shall submit to the Secretary/Treasurer his signed application which shall be endorsed by two members of the Association, recommending the candidate for membership along with the required application fee and the dues for one year membership. If the candidate be favorably approved by the Directors, he/she will become a member.

Affiliate Member - Teachers of veterinary medicine or of the sciences allied to veterinary medicine, who do not qualify for active membership. Affiliate members shall have the same rights as other members, except that no affiliate member may hold an elective office or vote on any matter nor have any right or title to or interest in any real or personal property of the Association.

Associate Member - Any Veterinarian who meets the qualifications of membership but who resides outside the State of Minnesota shall be eligible to become an associate member of this Association. Associate members shall have the same rights as other members, except that no associate member may hold an elective office or vote on any matter nor have any right or title to or interest in any real or personal property of the Association.

Supporting Member - Any person, partnership, corporation, or other entity who is not otherwise eligible for membership in the Association, but who desires to support the purpose of the Association and be eligible to receive its publications and participate in its programs as the Board of Directors may permit, shall be eligible to become a supporting member of this Association. If the candidate be favorably approved by the directors, such candidate shall become a supporting member. No supporting member may hold an elective office or vote on any matter nor have any rights or title to or interest in any real or personal property of the Association. The special dues assessments may not be levied against supporting members. Supporting Member Application

Graduate Student/Intern/Resident Member - Any DVM currently enrolled in a graduate veterinary program from an accredited college of veterinary medicine or employed as an intern or resident at an accredited college of veterinary medicine.

Graduate Practicing Member - Any DVM practicing in his/her 1st or 2nd year after graduation from an accredited college of veterinary medicine.

Student Member - Any full-time veterinary student of an accredited veterinary college.
