The Senior Veterinarians Council is a group of veterinarians that are either life members, inactive members or retired from veterinary practice. The council typically meets 3-4 times a year often combining their meetings with a social or educational activity. These events and activities are open to all MVMA members and their guests. Dr. Dick Olson is currently the chair of the Senior Vets Council. "Saving & Improving the Outdoors of the Future"

Location: U.S Fish & Wildlife Services Headquarters - Windom, MN

Time: 10:30 am
Come enjoy Educational fun, Good Lunch, and Old Buddies!
The day will begin at the US Fish and Wildlife Services headquarters. Juice, coffee, and cookies will be served as you casually walk through the displays and office setting of the Windom Wetland Management District. Park Ranger & Education Specialist, Howard Paul, will give a brief presentation, followed by a tour of the area, wildlife observation, and view the water level control structure on the Marsh.
The Prairie Ecology bus, a large bus with a traveling laboratory, headquartered in Lakefield, will be on display.
At 1:00 pm, Dr. Mike Stone will serve a bison burger lunch that originates from his Bison Hill Farm NW of Windom. After lunch, enjoy a tour of the Windom DNR District Fisheries & Wildlife offices just one mile away. Managers Randy Markl (Wildlife) and Ryan Doorenbos (Fisheries) will be available for questions and commentary.
Cold drinks, goodbyes, and departure will be around 3:00 pm.

Large Turnout at Senior Veterinarians Fall BBQ at Sprau Family Farm
A beautiful fall day made for a fun time at the Sprau Family Farm. Nearly fifty MVMA members, their spouses and guests converged on the Sprau farm to enjoy good food, fellowship and to listen to a speaker on wind energy in Southern Minnesota as well as visit one of the wind turbines located on the Sprau farm. A special thank you to Dr. Sprau and his wife, Carol, for hosting this event.
Senior Veterinarians Enjoy Fall Museum and Winery Tour
A beautiful fall day made for a fun time in Alexandria visiting the Runestone Museum followed by a tour and wine-tasting at Dr. Florian Ledermann’s vineyard. Nearly fifty MVMA members, their spouses and guests attended the event to enjoy good food, wine, fellowship and tour of Dr. Ledermann’s vineyard and prairie restoration project. A special thank you to Dr. Ledermann, as well as Dr. Dick Olson, Dr. Bob Dietl, Dr. Ron Kuecker and others for helping making this event a success.
