Minnesota Veterinary Technician Certification

The MVMA no longer accepts technician certification applications or renewals!

Effective July 1, 2026, technician licensure managed by the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine officially replaced MVMA certification.

For individuals who held an active CVT status through June 30, 2026, your VTNE scores and proof of education/diploma were transferred to the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine (BVM).

To learn more and apply for licensure, visit the Technician Licensing page on the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine's website. You can also find helpful resources and history on MVMA’s licensure information page.

For questions related to applying for veterinary technician licensure, please contact the MN Board of Vet Med at [email protected] or 651-201-2844.
