Advocacy
Ongoing legislative advocacy committed to keeping veterinary medicine at the forefront of Minnesota state policy. The MVMA was able to lobby for veterinary practices to be deemed essential businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, pass the Veterinary Immunity bill, and help approve a bill to allocate $675,000 in funding to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Diagnostic Lab and up to $1,000,000 per year for avian influenza, salmonella, and turkey-related disease research.
