CVT Certification Renewal through MVMA Has EndedCertification renewals are no longer being accepted as of Oct. 31, 2025. Beginning July 1, 2026, technician licensure through the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine will replace certification through the MVMA. If your certification status is current/active through MVMA, your VTNE scores, along with diploma information, will be transferred to the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) on your behalf for those who are current CVTs. If your certification status is not active/lapsed through MVMA. Your VTNE scores, along with diploma information will not be transferred! You will need to apply for licensure through the legacy (grandfather) clause. Please see our Veterinary Technician Licensure resource page for more information. The MN Board of Veterinary Medicine is hoping to be able to start accepting applications in May - June 2026.
