MRI: Breaking Down the Love of the MRI from a Neurologist's Perspective
Tuesday, October 08, 2024, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT
Category: Events
2024 Lunch 'n Learn Series The goal of this session is to give a general background on MRI and its importance in the successful diagnosis and management of neurologic patients. By the end of the session you will be able to understand how the MRI formulates an image, know the most common sequences that we use, and the information that the sequences are able to provide to help us best care for our patients. Dr. Missy Carpentier, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) has been practicing in the Twin Cities for 8 years. Her love of neurology has led her down the path of practice ownership as she is currently in the process of opening up Minnesota Veterinary Neurology in Columbus, MN, a specialty hospital specifically designed for the neurologic patient. Dr. Missy Carpentier graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in Connecticut at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center. As her interest in neurology peaked during the internship, she then completed a one-year post doctoral fellowship in the Comparative Neurology Program at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carpentier stayed in Missouri to pursue a three-year neurology/neurosurgery residency that was jointly performed at The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Specialty Services in St. Louis. Outside of neurology, Dr. Carpentier enjoys spending her time with her husband, her two children, their Alaskan Husky kennel of competitive sled dogs, their numerous house dogs (Aidni is by far the best), and her two off the track thoroughbred mares. 1 interactive CE credit - Click here to register! |
