2022 CVT Webinar Series They Say We Gotta Go to Rehab: Creating Rehab Protocols in General Practice Physical Rehabilitation encompasses a multimodal approach towards the management of chronic and acute conditions and can help improve surgical outcomes and the quality of animals’ lives. Through an understanding of general physical rehabilitation principles, modalities, and case management strategies for common orthopedic and neurological conditions, therapies can be easily integrated into general veterinary practices to elevate patient standards of care. Mr. Nielsen is a graduate of Argosy University. His wide variety of experience includes practicing and teaching at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Teaching Hospital, working in small animal and exotic general practice, working in emergency and specialty medicine, and finally finding his true passion in the sports medicine field. John became a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care through the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians in 2007 and a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Physical Rehabilitation through the Academy of Physical Rehabilitation Veterinary Technicians in 2019. In 2011, he earned the title Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner from the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, in 2013 he became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, and in 2020 completed requirements to become a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer through the University of Tennessee.
