The Minnesota Veterinary Medical Reserve Corp and University of Minnesota Medical Reserve Corps present:

Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Training
Animals present unique challenges in radiological or nuclear incidents. This course will provide an awareness level understanding of radiological response and demonstrate a variety of methods for detection of radiation contamination on animals.

The course is designed for veterinary professionals, public health professionals and other emergency response personnel. Training provided by the Minnesota Department of Human Services REP Program and the MNVMRC, and hosted by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and the Medical Reserve Corps.

All MRC members are encouraged to attend, along with veterinary faculty, staff, and students.

Agenda:

4:30 Welcome
4:35 Overview of the REP program, reception center roles/responsibilities, exercises with meters (MN DHS)
6:30 U of MN MRC introduction
6:45 PPE, decontamination techniques and protocols for animals-unique challenges (MNVMRC) 7:15 Intro on ingestion pathway (agriculture challenges) (USDA)

3 hours of continuing education. 
Light meal will be provided.
There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required.
