Davis Seelig, DVM, PhD, DACVP, Associate Professor & Section Head, Clinical Pathology, Veterinary Medical Center

Join us for an interactive session focusing on a mixture of classic and unique, small animal cytology cases that were submitted to the UMN-VMC Clinical Pathology Laboratory. This session does not require previous experience in veterinary cytology and the presenters are ready to answer all of your questions.

Dr. Gwynn is a graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and holds a master's degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She completed a small animal internship at VCA Alameda in East Denver, Colorado prior to providing locum medical services for emergency and general small animal practices. After completing residency in clinical pathology at the University of Minnesota, she provided locum diagnostic clinical pathology services for a number of universities and private labs including the University of Liverpool and the digital cytology start up Lacuna Diagnostics. Dr. Gwynn is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in clinical pathology and is certified as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She spends the majority of her time with the hospital performing clinical diagnostics, but also enjoys teaching veterinary students, interns, and residents whenever she gets the chance. Her interests currently include higher education teaching and learning.

Dr. Seelig obtained his BS degree from Boston University, followed by a DVM degree from Tufts University in 2003. He then completed Veterinary Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residences and a PhD degree in pathology at Colorado State University. He became a diplomate of the ACVP in 2011 and joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 2013. His laboratory focuses on prion disease pathology and pathogenesis, experimental radiation biology, and the advanced classification of veterinary lymphoproliferative diseases.
